The problem

Looking for a short name means clicking through four sign-up pages and typing every candidate by hand. Existing checkers are often bloated, need accounts, or dodge rate limits with proxies.

The solution

namecheck queries each platform’s public endpoints directly and respects their limits. Names that break a platform’s rules are filtered out locally before a single request is sent.

• Three ways to use it: desktop interface, command line, or a text file in and CSV/JSON out
• Generator: random 3L, 4L, 3C and 4C combinations or word lists
• Robust: retries on 429 and server errors, a separate pace per platform, clean cancellation

Under the hood

One file, Python standard library only. The interface is a custom dark ttk theme with filters, search and live stats. Checks run in parallel in a thread pool, and each platform has its own throttle.
